AOL set to release many new Open services and samples - November 2008
Our Open Mail API team has been gearing up over the last couple of months to bring many new open services to the development community. We know what is means to be a developer - so of course we are going to include information on how to get started and fully documented samples.
Here is a brief description of just a few of the new things we are working on - a suite of all new AOL Address Book api's that include access for almost every application(Web/social networking - hCard ,traditional client- vCard and mobile devices- Sync).
On the mail front we plan to release a new set of API's to complement our open IMAP offering - the big difference here is that these API's will be available via a web service - so if you are looking to create a web mash-up and want to include an AOL mailbox - you are in business. Want to create an application using your AOL calendar - not only will you be able to post and read calendar entries - but we also plan on supporting iCalendar ! ....
We plan on providing many more details over the next several weeks - so check back frequently. We are also always looking for feedback on how to make it easier to include your AOL mail, address and calendar data in your social application - so please add an entry to our blog ..
Cheers and happy developing ..
